PG Tips tea is a favourite amongst tea-drinkers all over the UK, and the brand’s heritage dates all the way back to 1869 when Arthur Brooke opened his first shop in Manchester. Tea is a significant part of British culture, which is why many love pouring a brew at home as well as whilst they’re away.
That’s why we work hard to bring products like PG Tips tea to consumers all over the world, so you can enjoy a taste of British culture no matter where you are.

What Type of Tea is PG Tips?
PG Tips is made from dried black tea leaves grown in Kericho, Kenya. Their tea products are also 100% Rainforest Alliance certified, which means that PG Tips meets high sustainability standards.
What Does PG Tips Stand For?
Even if you’re an avid drinker of PG Tips, you may not know where the unique name originates from. Initially, PG Tips was called ‘Pre-Gest’ Tea, which is short for ‘pre-digestive’ as it was believed that drinking tea aids digestion.
Then, pre-gest was shortened to PG and ‘tips’ was added by Arthur Brookes as it shows that only the top two leaves of each bud and plant are used to make the tea.
